Paul G. Bland


Paul G. Bland, 63, of 5946 Carter Road, Owensboro, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at his home. He was born in Breckinridge County to the late Tilford and Louise Matthews Bland. He is retired from Aramark Uniform Service, formerly Todd Uniform, as a route salesman. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon McGary in June 2004; and Janice Dailey in June 1996.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Carol Bland; a daughter and her husband, Veronica Louise and Steve Connelly of Winchester, Va.; three sons and their wives, James Howard and Karen Bland of Clarksville, Tenn., Joseph Everett and Cathy Bland of Whitesville and Paul Stephen and Mary Sue Bland of Owensboro; a brother and his wife, Louis and Emily Bland of Cloverport; and a sister and her husband, Deloris and Mack Mattingly of Hardinsburg; and eight grandchildren, Cori, Curtis and Kady Bland, Eric Johnson and Chelsea, Seth, Hannah and Thomas Paul Bland; and eight stepgrandchildren, Blake, Kayla, Cody and Dalton Garrett, and Devin, Patrick, Brian and Shannon Connelly.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
