Message Board Post:

Hi,
Is this the same Nix family who had a Frances in the 1850 census as follows:
Oliver Brown, b. 1811, Daniel Brown, b. 1824, Edward Brown, b. 1826 in the household of Frances Nix and her two children in Warrick County, Indiana.
Kris Manley of the Spencer County, Indiana, Public Library sent me this information:
I have done a little checking since your query was forwarded to the Rockport Library from INSPENCE.
I have not found a connection between Francis Nix and the Brown's but it would appear that she may have been a Brown, too.
Nothing here except there is a death record for a female Frances Nix, 97 years old (not 87) dated 5 Feb 1900 in Buffaloville. There was no tombstone or obituary to go with this death. You would have to contact the Health Dept. at the Spencer Co. Courthouse for a copy to see if this is even the
correct person. It is in Book R-2 page 7.
I am trying to find out if the Daniel, Oliver, Edward were my Joseph Brown children. And, if so, what her relationship is to our Brown family of Hardin County, Kentucky, then Spencer County, Indiana, then Porter County, Indiana.
