Hi all....

Wanted to let you know about updates that occurred today and some further information on the Cedar Hill Stephensport Cemetery.

There have been uploads to the "S" and the "W" surnames in the WWI Draft Registration Card project, making the "W" surnames completely uploaded. There's a few "S's" that need uploading still and then it will be completely finished. It only leaves letters "L", "M", "R", and "T" to transcribe and all the known Breckinridge County cards for World War I will be completely available to see online. It's been a project that has taken a LOT of time, effort, and manpower... and could NOT have been done without the transcribers that volunteered to help out. Dorothy, Betsey, Dave, Doug, Jen, Peggy and Donde have really worked hard to bring the transcriptions online for the Breck. Co. researchers... I, for one, am very thankful and appreciative for all they've done and still have left to do.

On the Cedar Hill, Stephensport cemetery, I got word today that two of the big stones in my family's plot were untouched (which was a great relief). I just wish that were the case with the rest of them. While I have pictures to show that some were broken due to time, I also have pictures to show some that were whole and unbroken. One that I didn't know was up there until after I'd been up there and taken pictures, a marker for James A. Robertson, was broken as well. I do know the pictures I've taken are some that they would like to have copies of for placing the markers back in their proper places, as well as knowing what entire markers look like. So hopefully they will help out in the long run. Also... they will be having a cemetery work day probably in the fall to not only do clean up around the cemetery, but to repair the stones that have minimal damage. I'll make sure to find out when it is and to post it on the mailing list so that anyone who would like to participate can.

One last thing.... this coming week will be a "dry one" concerning uploads. It'll be Saturday before I can really do anything by way of uploading due to my teaching a childrens' VBS class at church. While I won't be able to upload anything, I will be checking email... so feel free to still send things for the Archives site. We still have two major batches of marriages that were submitted by "God's Little Angel" and by Bob McManaway that will be typed up and placed on the site within the coming weeks.... we can always use more documents, transcriptions, and pictures on the site!

Happy Hunting!
