MAtlas of Putnam County, Indiana. Chicago: Beers, 1879. "Cloverdale Township." MACY, James. PO Cloverdale, Farmer & Carpenter was born Nov 1, 1816 in Breckinridge Co KY; son of John Macy born Tenn and Sarah Barger b in Va,, who settled in this county 1824 on Sec 6, Cloverdale Twp. He married May 7, 1840 in Putnam County Sarah daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Lyon natives of VA born June 17, 1823 in KY; by this marriage had 7 children: John L (deceased); Nancy; D.L. ; H.G. ; Lowena; Lucretia (deceased) and one who died in infancy. Mrs. Macy died APril 15, 1852. Mr. Macy was married again Dec 6, 1852 to Mary Ann, daughter of John and Sarah Magill, former a native of NC and latter of Ky; born in this township Feb 14, 1835; by this union have 5 children: Sarah; John; Phoebe; Mary and William. Mr. Macy was the second child in a family of six, of whom but two are living; he came to this county with his parents when 8; his father died Spet 1825 and mother July 12, 1849; both w!
