Hi all....
More of the "M" surname cards for the WWI Draft Registration Card project were uploaded tonight. There's still roughly 105 in the hopper for me to upload... which brings it real close to having the "M's" done. I'm guesstimating that by the end of October all the cards will be online.
A very interesting and exciting surprise came to my email box this evening. James Tinius from Alaska emailed a friend of mine who maintains the Jefferson Co. and Shelby Co. sites, and he referred him to me. Mr. Tinius had information on a cemetery in Breck. Co. that was missing from the master list, from the cemetery books, and from the information the Cemetery Board and Archives had. I called Mrs. Schafer at home tonight and explained the situation, gave her the name and that Mr. Tinius also had verifiable burial information on individuals buried there with and without markers. He has graciously granted permission to link up to his site with the pictures and information, and is presently looking to see if he has any individual marker pictures that can be added to the site.
In the cemetery are the surnames "Tinius", "Dick", "Houchen", and "Behrich/Behrick". It's a small cemetery, but Mr. Tinius mentioned that the gentleman that took him up there to the cemetery also discussed with him about 2 other cemeteries within the area. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something more is found out about these other 2 cemeteries!
Happy Hunting!
