I have answered, at least in part, my question concerning Barksdale
Snider/Snyder. He appears to have been a minister with the Separate
Baptists, attending annual conference as a representative of the Mount
Horeb congregation. In the period from roughly 1828 to 1835, the church
shrunk so that by 1835 there are no membership numbers listed and after
that neither Rev. Snyder nor the Mount Horeb congregation are mentioned
again in the minutes of the Nolynn Association.
Does anyone know anything about this church?
