The parentage of both Margaret A. Dowell and John M. Scott is unknown. Margaret was born 15 Jan 1813 in either VA or KY and John was born 14 Oct in either 1814 or 1816 in KY. Other than their children, no other family has been identified for them so far. They married in 1836 in Breckinridge Co, KY and by 1840 they appear to have been in Martin Co, IN. They moved to Louisville, Jefferson Co, KY in 1850, just in time for the census, and then moved to Perry Co, IN in 1851. John died in 1877, probably in Perry Co. Margaret died in 1898 in Barton Co, MO.

I have learned that B. Snyder is probably Barksdale Snyder and from at least 1828 to 1835 he was with the Separate Baptists, probably as a minister at the Mount Horeb church in Breckinridge which was a member of the Nolynn Association until 1835. After that, neither the church nor Rev. Snyder appear in the records. I would like to know what became of that church.
