Hi all...
I'm CCing this to the Archives there in Hardinsburg so they are aware of what all's going on. This past week the transcribers for the Death Certificate project have been working hard and nearly all of the 1911 have been sent out. There are a smattering here and there that I don't have back yet, but for the most part I've gotten all the transcriptions on my hard drive. I'm working on the letter "M" surname page, so I have a ways to go before I have caught up to them.
I'm finding that as I put the names in and put down the cemetery the individual was buried in.... there are some cases where I need to build a new cemetery page to house the "new" info for a formerly unavailable cemetery. Plus, in quite a few cases I'm verifying just where a person was buried if they were listed as being buried in a town or in Breck. Co. In some cases my cemetery books (and other individuals emailing) have established a cemetery of interment. There are some, though, that are just not going to be found unless a living individual has that information and stumbles upon the site and notifies everyone of what they have. There are some that are listed as being buried in other counties/states, and with us doing what we are on the Breck. Co. site... the other counties and states don't have a cemetery link that I can link the DC to for further proof for the researcher. At least, though, it gives you a head's up on where to look for a burial location.
Also, the "higher ups" that I answer to, emailed earlier today about a few changes we needed to reflect on our pages, so I spent a little time updating the main page with those changes they asked for. Instead of there being a search engine box, there is a link that you can search the entire state of Kentucky's Archives database. Just click on "Kentucky Archives Search Engine" on the main page, and it will take you to it.
Here in a few I'm getting ready to send out the beginning of the 1912 DC's for transcription. So be sure to keep checking daily to see what's been added to the Death Certificates as I'm putting them on as fast as I can. Y'all have a good one!
