Hi Paul,
East Main St. From the Clovercreek east was High St on the 1909
Sanborn Fire map.
West of the bridge was Wall St.
High St. ran east west crossed by Cross St. 2nd Cross St etc. now Cross
Is Maple St, 2nd Cross is Locust
On the 1909 map the RR tracks ran down the center of Huston (east of the
creek trestle) West of the creek was known as 2nd and or Railroad St., now
It is West Huston.
Front St. runs parallel to High St (E. Main St.) as it did does now. West
Of the creek Front continued, now only a small spur show.
High St. between Cross (1st Cross) and 2nd Cross, north side of street had
A Presbyterian Church, on the south side St. George Hotel.
At 2nd Cross (Locust) and Front western corner was Whitley and Son Tabacco.
At Huston (E. Huston) and 2nd Cross (Locust) south west corner was M&E
Church (negro).
At 3rd Cross (Lynn) end of the road on the Ohio River was BL Morton lumber
mill.
Happy Hunting,
Steve Miller

Subject: [KYBRECKI] High Street?
I found my g-grandfather, siblings and their parents in the 1910 census as
living at 59 High Street, Cloverport City, Ky.
I went to maps.google.com and looked around Cloverport but I don't see a
High Street. Was this street renamed or maybe washed away in the Flood of
'37 maybe?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
