I have a Samuel Howard Free in my husband's family line...he was born in 1852 in Wilsonville, TN, died 1913 in Jefferson County, TN. He married Mary Elizabeth Queen in 1872 in Haywood Co., NC(?). They had 7 children that I'm aware of.

He was a brother to John M. Free. They were sons of James Free and Jane ?. John M. Free then was father to William Rhoton Free, who was my husband's great-grandfather.

Does all this match with your information? If so, I'd love to hear from you! I can't get past Samuel & John's grandfather, John Free, who married Angelina ?.
