Hello All,
In trying to find the father of William MARTIN, b. 1831, I find Thomas MARTIN
living in Estill Co., in 1850, next door to Joseph AMBROSE. Thomas MARTIN's
wife was Sarah A. Was she Sarah AMBROSE? In searching for Joseph AMBROSE, I
found this:
Joseph Ambrose (1762-1847) enlisted, 1777, in Virginia and served until 1783.
He was born in Bedfordshire, England; died in CLAY COUNTY, Ky.
2. Thomas Morris Pinkston (1817-88) m. 1843 Elizabeth Ambrose (1827-1918).
3. Joseph Ambrose (1798-1881) m. 1826 Hannah Clements (1799-1870).
4. Roger Clements m. 1787 Hannah Hathaway (1768-1846); Joseph Ambrose m. 1783
Elizabeth Rickets.
Roger Clements (1762-1835) enlisted, 1780, as private in Captain Davidson's
company, Col. William Davidson's regiment, North Carolina Line. He was born
in Augusta County, Va.; died in Kentucky.
Joseph AMBROSE in Estill Co. was 52, a minister. Thomas MARTIN deeded his
property to Hannah KERSEY in 1861, in exchange for caring for him. There were
two Hannahs in the household of Joseph AMBROSE, Estill Co., and Thomas MARTIN
had originally purchased his property from Joseph AMBROSE.
Can anyone help me with any of these lines and the connections? I'd really
appreciate anything you can tell me about any of them, and will gladly send
any information I have that would help you.
Shirley
