Floyd Smith charged with the murder of Turner Turner is on trial as we go
to press
. The killing occurred about two months ago, across Pine Mountain. According
to reports of the trouble, both men were friends and were at some kind of
gathering, when one of them discharged his pistol.
The other immediately discharged his pistol also and then each started
toward the other, firing his pistol as he went. Turner was killed and Smith
was severely injured.
