The body of a Harlan County man missing since Wednesday was found Sunday
in the Poor Fork of the Cumberland River in Harlan County.
The body of Terry Smith, 40 of Totz, was found at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in the
river between Totz an Nolansburg. Harlan County Coroner Joe Mahan said a
preliminary autopsy report showed that the cause of death was drowning. Mahan
said a boater found the body. He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Smith
of Knoxville, Tenn; a son Terry Smith Jr, Bledso; his mother, Lola Smith of
Totz; two brothers, Matthew Smith of Pennington Gap, Va; and Kenneth Smith of
Harlan; and a sister,Tammy Huff of Loyall.
