>Hello,

I will be in the Harlan County area in a few weeks and am wondering if
anyone
knows where Jesse Brock, b 1751 (wife Rebecca Howard) is buried. I have
one
clue that says he was buried in the Old Mason's Cemetery, possibly in
Wallin's Creek? I'd love to be able to visit his grave while I'm there -
can
anyone help?

Thanks much!

Hello,

The Jesse BROCK, b. Dec. 8, 1752; d. 1836 who was a Private in Thompson's
NC Regiment, Rev. War is buried at the Old Wallins or Masonic Cemetery at
Wallin's Creek, Kentucky. This information and the directions to the
cemetery are contained in Kathryn Howard Trails' book entitled "Cemeteries
in Southwestern Harlan Co., Kentucky".

Directions: From the stop light in the City of Wallins, KY drive South
.01 miles to Wallins Baptist Church and turn left at the south side of the
church. Drive .01 miles on black-topped road to the top of the hill and
make a sharp left. That brings you between the two sections of the Masonic
Cemetery. The lower section, which used to be called "The Old Wallins
Cemetery", was recorded on April 1, 1985 by Rose LONG and Kathryn TRAIL.
There were 155 unidentified graves in this cemetery which is no longer
receiving. The Great Flu Epidemic of 1917-1919 is very apparent here.
