In the Harlan County Court Yard, is a monument to the Americam Revolutionary
Patriots that died in Harlan County, Kentucky. Here is my research on Carr
Bailey,
1. Carr1 Bailey (JohnA, JohnB, StephenC) was born Bef. 1730 in Henry County,
Virginia, and died September 1839 in Clover Fork Section of the Cumberland
River, Harlan County, Kentucky. He married (1) Mary Turner. She was born
Bef. 1755 in Virginia, and died in Virginia. He married (2) Mary Minter
(Source: Membership Applications and other Historical documents and Gravesites.,
SAR Patriot Index Database, Names and date taken from membership applications..).
She was born Abt. 1720 in Henry County, Virginia, and died Bet. 1770 -
1771 in Virginia.

Key., April 12, 1898), 2231, My father removed to Harlan Co., Key., in
1846 and settled just above Mt. Pleasant where we lived two years then
removed 8 miles - 2231 - furthur up the Clover Fork near the old homestead
of William Turner, one of the first settlers of Harlan County. At that
time he was 100 years old and his wife was the same age. They were both
paralyzed and both died the same week when they were about 104 years old.
They raised a large family perhaps 12 in number.).
