Bailey Cemetery and the Brittain Cemetery, I refered to for Randy, was
across the mountain from Hensley Settlement, where he has been many
times. These cemeteries are located in LEE County, Virginia. Near Ewing.
Suggest you try to contact someone in LEE Co., VA. These cemeteries are
near the Original location of "Chadwell Station". Early families of Lee
Co., VA., and Harlan Co., KY. are descended from the families of Carr
Bailey, Nathaniel Brittain's son, David and Elizabeth (Turner) Cahdwell,
Walter Middleton, John Noe and Benjamin Posey, that settled there about
1795. Those family descendants, in turn went to Claiborne Co., Tennessee
and Harlan Co., Kentucky. From my memory, which is getting older, Am.
Rev. Soldiers Brittain and Cole were buried side by side, and now, a
cedar tree is growing from the Brittain grave. This Harlan Co. Q? may
help answer some questions.
