Hi

I have included pg 181 of the 1830 Clay county census here. I am especially
interested to determine if anyone knows what area of Clay county these folks
were living in. That is why I have included some of the other county
mailing lists in this query.

I am also very interested in Martha BROWN. I believe her to be Patsey
CORNELIUS, widow of John CORNELIUS who md Benjamin BROWN in Clay co in 1828,
and possibly the mother of my Andrew CORNELIUS. According to Jillson's a
Patsey CORNELIUS received a 50 acre land grant located in Clay co on
Rockhouse Fork and Sturgeon Creek in 1826. Notice that although there is a
male(age 50-60) in the household of Martha BROWN below, age 50-60 as well,
perhaps she is listed as head of household because the land belongs to her
by virtue of the above 1826 land grant. Any ideas?

I notice that she is surrounded by the AMBROSE family. Could that be her
maiden name? Strange but in every census in Laurel and then Jackson my
Andrew was called Andrew, except for the 1880 census of jackson co where
they called him Ambrose CORNELIUS.

Two other surnames on this page associated with CORNELIUS in KY marriages
are PARKER and RUNYAN(here RUNNION).

Several daughters of Alex PARKER, son of Pleasant PARKER, md into my
CORNELIUS family in Laurel and Jackson counties. Perhaps this John PARKER
in the 1830 census is related to Pleasant and Alex?
