Geraldine Pratt Adams, age 84, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, formerly of Hindman, died June 28, 2005 at Wesley Village at Wilmore, Kentucky.
She was born in Knott County on May 4, 1921 to Hiram Gilbert Pratt and Mary Elizabeth Pigman Pratt.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lee Adams. She is survived by one son: Robert Lee "Roddy" Adams and wife Janice of Carrie, Kentucky; one daughter; Doris Beams and Husband Bill of Willmore, Kentucky; one brother: R.S. Pratt of Florida; one sister: Mary Walker of Hazard, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren: Robert L. "Rpbbie" Adams, Heather Adams-Blair and husband Colby A. Blair, Anndee Beams Crutcher and husband Scott Crutcher and Tony Beams; special friend: Imogene Barnes.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2005 at Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with H.G. Pratt and Mike Caudill officiating. Burial followed at the Mountain Memory Gardens at Hindman, Kentucky.

Linda Mae Blair Calhoun

Linda Mae Blair Calhoun, 62 of Hindman, Kentucky died Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Hazard ARH, Hazard, Kentucky.
She was born the daughter of the late Fred and Callie Adams Blair on February 23, 1943.
She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: J. T. Blair, Charles Blair, S.T. Blair, Landon Blair, and Jack Welch.
She is survived by her husband: Russell Calhoun; one son: Fred Whitacker of Jeremiah, Kentucky; One Stepson: Carl Calhoun of Hindman, Kentucky; one daughter: Melissa Blair of Hindman, Kentucky; four stepdaughters: Carolyn Sue McIntire of Morgantown, West Virginia, Connie Calhoun of Mousie, Kentucky, Shelby Thornsberry of Pippa Passes, Kentucky and Margaret Calhoun of Litt Carr, Kentucky; three brothers: Odell Blair of Dayton, Ohio and Mack Blair of Jeremiah, Kentucky; one grandson: Ethan Whitacker.
Funeral services conducted on Monday, July 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church, Jeremiah, Kentucky, with Don Pratt and others officiating. Burial took place at the Blair Cemetery, Blair Branch, Jeremiah, Kentucky under the direction of Nelson Fraiser Funeral Home, Hindman, Kentucky.

Willie Cook

Willie Cook, 79, of Topmost, Kentucky, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Riverview Healthcare, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
He was a retired Coal Miner.
He was born April 6, 1925 to the late George and Hulda Johnson Cook.
He was proceeded in death by his wife: Ranie Isaac Cook; Two sons; Basel Dean Cook and Randall Cook; and a Grandson Jamie Glen Cook.
He was survived by five sons: Danny Dale Cook of Morehead, Glennis Cook, Ricky Cook and Doyle Cook, all of Topmost, and Lowell Cook of West Liberty; three daughters: Brenda Thornsberry of Salyersville, Linda Faye Patton of Willard, Ohio, and Priscilla Ann Clemons of Lexington; two brothers: Bobby Gene Cook of Topmost and Joe Cook of Virginia; three sisters: Linda Hall of Topmost, Sarah Jane Tuttle of Grafton, Ohio and Betty June Branham of Plymouth, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 3, at 11:00 a.m., at the Providence Old Regular Baptist Church, Dry Creek, at Topmost, Kentucky, Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial followed at the Cook Family Cemetery at Dry Creek, Topmost, Kentucky under the direction of Nelson Fraizer Funeral Home.

Orgis "Grandpa" Hudson

Orgis "Grandpa" Hudson, age 93 of Mallie, Kentucky, died on Fri. July 3, 2005 at his home. He was born on October 10, 1911, the son of the late Steve and Hattie Adams Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Anna Blair Hudson; brother: Wilburn; and sisters Bethel Parks and Parlee Calfee. He is survived by 1 son: Steve (Denise) Hudson; brother: Elmer Hudson; sister: Allie Hudson; 1 grandchild: Travis Hudson; and special friends: Eddie and Robin Thomas, Sarah Jent, Allen Sturgill Sr. and Allen Sturgill Jr.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, Kentucky, with Bordis Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the Carr Fork Memorial Cemetery, at Litt Carr, Kentucky under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, Kentucky.

Coy Huff

Coy Huff, 85, of Raven, Kentucky, died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, McDowell, Kentucky.
He was born May 07, 1920 in Pippa Passes, Kentucky to the late Troy and Sarah Belle Slone Huff.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Hollybush Old Regular Baptist Church, Hollybush, Kentucky.
He was survived by three sons: Com Huff of Raven, Kentucky, Vallis Huff of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Carl Huff of Indiana; Two daughters: Ruby R. Taylor of Hindman, Kentucky, and Geneva Woolfolk of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers: John E. Huff of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Carson Huff of Kendalville, Indiana.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 02, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hollybush Old Regular Baptist Church, with the Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Dale Short Cemetery, Topmost, Kentucky, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky.

Jasper Junior Mullins

Jasper Jr. Mullins (Tommy), age 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday June 5, 2005.
He was born on April 30, 1938, at Amburgey, Kentucky, the son of Jasper Mullins and Sylvia Gibson Mullins.
Jasper was a native of Amburgey, Kentucky, Knott County, Ky. He was a retired machinest for Dean's Milk Company, with 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernice Mullins and Leroy Mullins; and sisters, Arbedella.
He is survived by his wife, Laris Mullins; sons Randy (Clara) Mullins; Jerry (Gena) Mullins; granddaughters, Amber and Tara Mullins; stepgrandsons, Robbie and William; and sisters Gladys Coghill and Jewell Freeman.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home, Louisville, Kentucky. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Antioch Old Regular Baptist Church, American Cancer Society or American Health Association.

Gregory Lyn Owens

Gregory Lyn Owens, age 43 of La Grange, Indiana, died on Sat. July 2, 2005 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1961, the son of the late Allen Owens and Juanita (Coburn) Owens.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Thomas R. Owens. He is survived by one son: Cory Lynn Owens of Wolcottville, In.; stepmother: Sandy Owens of Hindman, Ky.; four aunts: Wanda Ritchie of Rome City, In., Deb Williams of LaGrange, In., Mary Vanderpool of Wolcottville, In., and Virgie Blankenship of LaGrange, In.; two brothers: James Owens of Ligonier, In., and Myles Shannon Owens of Hindman, Ky.; two sisters: Lola Owens of Ft. Wayne, In., and Kayla Owens of Hindman, Ky. Also surviving are numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville, Indiana, with Rev. Clarence Combs and Rev. Randloph Wicker officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, under the direction of Hutchens Funeral Home in Wolcottville, Indiana.

Carensa Kay Patrick, 26 of Hindman, Kentucky, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky.
She was the daughter of Charles and Barbara Sturgil Patrick.
She was a college student.
She was survived by one brother: Vanis Blair of Hindman; one sister: Sherry Blair of Hindman; boyfriend; John Hafley; maternal grandparents: Gillis and Beulah Sturgill of Hindman; paternal grandparents: Nick and Lilly Patrick; one special neice: Brianna Kay Blair; a host aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Hindman, Kentucky, with James Watts officiating. Burial followed in the James Watts cemetery, Watts Fork, Garner, Kentucky under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home.
