TROY WAGERS, 60, of Cannon, passed away Sunday, November 7, 1999. He was the
son of the late Jake Wagers and Emma Smallwood Wagers. He was the husband of
Norma Lee Garland Wagers of Cannon. He was a well-known Knox County
carpenter. Funeral services were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel
on Tuesday, November 9 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John R. Hash, the Rev. Garrett
Garland, and Bro. Arthur Downing officiating. Burial followed in the
Jackson-Garland Cemetery on Long Branch. Hopper Funeral Home was in Charge of
arrangements.

FLOYD HEMPILL, 70, was born in Bimble on December 31, 1928 and departed this
life on November 3, 1999 in Blue Ash, Ohio. He was the son of Joe and Pearl
(Sizemore) Hemphill and the widower of Rose Hemphill. He was an army veteran
of the Korea era. Funeral services were conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home
Chapel on Saturday, November 6 at 2 p.m. He was laid to rest in the Sizemore
Cemetery at Bimble. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

VIRGINIA HUBBARD SMITH, 70, of Parkers Lake, formerly of Hammons Fork, passed
away Friday, November 5, 1999 in the Cumberland Manor Nursing Home in Parkers
Lake, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Tip and Mary Hyde Hubbard.
She was the wife of Gilbert C "Gib" Smith. Funeral services were conducted in
the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 8 at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
Marvin Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Lawson Cemetery at Owens
Hollow. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

FLOYD SPROLES, 78, of Glasgow, formerly of Big Bull Creek, passed away Monday
afternoon, November 1, 1999 in the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. He was a
son of the late John and Laurie Valentine Sproles born on June 22, 1921 in
Knox County. On February 14, 1945 he united in marriage with Rosa Hicks in
Manchester. Survivors include his former wife, Rosa Sproles of Manchester.
Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home
Friday, November 5 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Shelby Wagers officiating. He was
laid to rest in the Bundy Cemetery in Clay County. Knox Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

JOHN T. COREY, 81, of Louisville, formerly of Barbourville, passed away
Saturday, November 6, 1999 in the Jewish Hospital. He was the son of the late
Joel and Daisy Cottingim Corey born to them on December 19, 1917 in
Barbourville. He was a retired assistant principal and former guidance
counselor at Wagganer High School. He also had been a principal in Harlan
County and a teacher in Knox County. He served our country in the Army
National Guard, the Navy and the Marines during World War II. Survivors
include his wife, the former Geraldine Bennett of Louisville. Funeral
services were conducted at the Beechwood Baptist Church Wednesday, November
10 at 1 p.m. He was laid to rest in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Pearson
Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

TROY GRAY, 85, of Mt. Washington, passed away Friday, November 5, 1999 at
Green Meadows Health Care Center. She was a native of Knox County. Funeral
services were conducted in the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home on
Sunday, November 7 at 2 p.m. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

OTIS "Pappy" MILLS, 73, of Gaylesville, Alabama, formerly of Stinking Creek,
passed away Friday, November 5, 1999 in Gaylesville, Ala. He was the son of
Nancy Baker Mills of Barbourville and the late Clark Mills. He was the
husband of Nancy Mills of Gaylesville, Ala. Funeral services were conducted
in the Jordan Funeral Home in Centre, Ala. on Monday, November 8 at 2 p.m.
with the Rev. James Rainey and the Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating. Burial
followed in the Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens. This is a courtesy announcement

ARNOLD PAUL FAULKNER, 73, of Louisville, formerly of Barbourville, passed
away Monday, November 1, 1999 in the Norton Hospital. He was the son of the
late William H. and Violet Pauline Arnold Faulkner born to them on March 5,
1926 in Barbourville. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret Leece
of Louisville. Memorial service was held at Christ Church United Methodist
Thursday, November 4 at 11 a.m. He was laid to rest in Cave Hill Cemetery in
Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may go to either the UK College of
Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, 102 Whalen Building, Lexington,
KY 40506-0043 or to his church. Pearson Funeral Home-Breckenridge Lane was in
