December 14, 1900
WANTED-To exchange a good sewing machine, just from the factory with
attachments and guaranteed for ten years, for a fat hog that will make plenty
of pork, lard and sausage. Call at the The Echo office.
Minnie, the two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Mye, of the western
portion of this county, died Thursday evening of last week and was buried
Friday afternoon. The bereaved father and mother will please accept the
sympathy of the editor.
Old grandmother Lovelace, the aged widow of the late William Lovelace, Sr.,
has been quite ill during the week.
Mr. Isaac Allen, aged citizen of Oakley, died at his home of bronchial
troubles last Tuesday. His remains were interred at the Landrum cemetery.
Mr. W. G. Jones who has been quite ill for the past three weeks with
pneumonia, has so far recovered as to be able to come to town yesterday for
the first time.
Mr. H. F. Yaden, living three miles south of London, who has been dangerously
ill for several months, is convalescent and it is hoped that he will soon
recover.
Mr. David Chapman died at his residence in Pittsburg last Sunday night, after
an illness of several months with consumption. The Echo extends to the
bereaved family its deepest sympathy.
Among those who have been ill of pneumonia during the week is Charles the
eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Jackson. He is a convalescent now.
