LOCAL ITEMS

Miss Cora Harman, after spending the holidays at home, returned Wednesday to
resume her position in the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.

Mr. J. T. Mullins, an old friend and patron of The Echo, of Bush, this county
left a few days since to attend the Medical College at Knoxville, Tenn.

That was indeed a sad thing for those young ladies who hired a livery and
drove to the depot a few mornings since to meet their fellows, but who failed
to materialize.

Congressman Boreing recently secured the establishment of the following
postoffices and appointment of the following postmasters: Brock, Laurel
county, Lizzie Brock, postmistress and Hector, Clay county, A. Davidson,
postmaster.

Mr. John Owens, of Columbus, Ind., after a visit of about ten days to
relatives and other friends in this county, left on his return home
Wednesday. This is Mr. Owens' first visit to this county in thirty years.
He first left the county thirty-nine years ago.

Mr. David Parsley, who has been making his home at Maitland, Mo., for over
two years, returned to London, Monday evening on a visit with relatives. He
will remain until about March 1.

Eight marriages license have been issued by our county court clerk during the
week, as follows: W. S. Basford and Margaret M. Bailey, Argill Brock and
Mary Vaughn, M. F. Kerns and Ida Moren, R. F. Allen and Nackie Gains, James
F. Cathers and Susan Catharine Robinson, J. V. Harris and Sarah Norvill,
James Parker and Margaret Browning, S. M. Jackson and Hiley Raney.
