EAST BERNSTADT
Miss Lizzie Faris, of Oakley, is visiting friends here; also attending the
protracted meeting.
The second week of the winter term of school, at this place, convened Monday,
with an enrollment of fifty-two pupils.
Mrs. Lizzie May entertained a number of friends at her home Sunday. We are
always glad to be entertained by such a hostess as "Aunt Lizzie."
Miss Sallie, the daughter of Dr. Lutz, of McWhorter, entered school here
Monday.
Bro. Ragan, of Preachersville, filled his regular appointment at the M. E.
church Sunday.
Mr. Dave Nelson, who has been very ill for the past few days, is now
convalescent.
LOCAL ITEMS
Mrs. J. F. Pigg has been quite ill for several days, but is now rapidly
improving.
Mr. David Parsley has been quite ill of tonsillitis at the residence of his
sister, Mrs. M. E. Dyche, for the past week, but now is convalescent.
Mrs. Hewson Wright, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Mr. W. F. Jesup, of Cleves.O.,
are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessup, of this city.
Mrs. S. E. Hardin is making preparations to visit her daughter, Mrs. W. B.
Catching, of Washington City, and attend the Inauguration on the fourth of
March.
Mrs. B. F. Metcalfe, who spent the New Year holidays with his family at Erin,
Tenn., has returned and can constantly be found at his anvil on Sublimity
Street.
The family of Dr. H. V. Pennington is moving in the Fred Pigg property,
recently occupied by Mr. Brown, who has moved into the property recently
vacated by Mr. Charles Barnett and belonging to Mr. Harve Pearl.
