John Edward Smith
Steel worker

John Edward Smith, 91, of 699 Spence Cemetery Road, Dayton, Tennessee,
died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his residence.
Born October 23, 1908, in Norton, Virginia, he was a steel worker and member
of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Susan (Legg) Smith and John Wesley
Smith; and his wife, Cynthia (Church) Smith.
Survivors include three sons, O'Neil Smith of Dayton, Tenn., Arthur Smith
and Robert Smith, both of Hunnington, Ind.; two daughters, Ruby Hibbard
of Gary, Ind., and Joyce Smith of Hunnington, Ind.; a brother, James Smith
of LaFayette, Ind.; and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 29, at the House-Rawlings Funeral
Home with O'Neil Smith officiating.

Burial followed in the Tuttle Cemetery at London, Ky.
