Hi Carolyn:

Thank you! I've been wondering what happened to Margaret Elizabeth (Lizzie)
Baker Brock. Unfortunately, I don't have much information on her husband,
George R. Brock. I descend from her sister, Amanda Baker Storm.

From copies of Barton R. Baker's family bible (located in the Baker folder at
the Laurel County Historical Society), it states that she married George
Brock on November 30, 1893. It also gives four children from this marriage.

1. Myrtle Brock - born December 18, 1895
2. Eugene Warren Brock - born October 1, 1896
3. William Brock - born Octobert 14, 1998
4. Ray Brock - born May 5, 1901

The 1880 census (compiled by the Laurel County Historical Society lists at
least three George Brocks who where born around 1866.

Ragan Brock and Matilda if the daughter of George and Betsy Bullock Watkins)

I seem to have lost track of Lizzie after the entry into Barton R. Baker's
bible when Ray Brock was born in 1901. However, from reading her mother's
obituary (Hettie Chesnut Baker) who died in 1907, and knowing how many of her
children were still living at that time, it seems that Lizzie may have died
before her mother died. I cannot account for her. Is there a date on her
headstone in Walla Walla, Washington?

One more thing (to add to the confusion) - Lizzie Baker's brother, Rufus
Baker, married Nancy Brock (or Nanny Brock) in 1892. They had one child,
Ethel Baker. Rufus died on a train somewhere around Chattanooga, TN in 1894.
His widow, Nanny Brock Baker, then married a George G. Brock on August 28,
1907. This George G. Brock is listed on the 1910 census as being a lawyer.
The 1880 annotated census lists Nancy Brock as the daughter of Daniel Brock
(son of Ragan and Matilda Knight Brock) and Mary (nee Lucas).
