Hi All...
Hope your Sunday is going well.
I have been trying to establish a section on the McCreary website
pertaining to the coal mining business in the county. This week I spent
some time on the phone with a few offices back in McCreary Co and asked
about an explosion at Barthell in 1910. No one there seems to have very
much information at all. I have put what I could learn about it on the
website. I am hoping that you all will take a look and let me know if you
can add anything to it or if you can tell me where I might find sources of
information on this and any other thing about the coal mines and miners of
the county.
I appreciate your help.
By the way ~ that same thing applies to any aspect of the county. With
McCreary being the baby of the state, it is difficult to find good
resources. If you can give me any help with that, I would be grateful.
