Harness, Mrs. Winnie-Died July 1949 at the age of 53 years, she was a member
of the Annadel Baptist Church, she was a true Christian until death. She
leaves to mourn her absence, husband, two sons and two daughters, two
sisters and one brother. We feel our loss is her eternal gain in Glory.
Harness, Bro. R. L.-Was born about 1886, joined the United Baptist Church at
Bull Creek in July 1900, then was ordained as deacon in the church some time
later. He died on July 25, 1947. He leaves one sister, Mary Ann Harness
and a host of relatives to mourn his absence. We feel our loss is his
eternal gain in glory.
Chambers, Pleasant L.-Was born November 25, 1866. Deceased this life June
27th, 1948 at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 2 days old. He left one
brother and one sister, 7 half brothers and sisters, 4 children, 3 boys and
1 girl, 27 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. We hope our
loss is his gain.
Goad, Visie-Was born October 24, 1923, deceased this life April 18, 1949.
She was married to Charlie Biggs May 21, 1945, he passed out of this life
December 1945, to this union was born one daughter, Betty Joyce Biggs. She
professed a hope in Christ July 20, 1939, she joined the Black Creek Church
August 13, 1939 and was baptized. She leaves to mourn her absence one
daughter Betty Joyce Biggs and a grandfather B. L. Goad, one sister, Mrs.
Delmer Efersai and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her absence.
She lived a faithful Christian life. We feel our loss is her eternal gain
in heaven.
Watters, Elaney-Age 71 years was received into the Beech Grove church by
baptism in 1923. She departed this life April 21, 1949. She leaves a
husband, two brothers and two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her
absence. We feel our loss is her gain in glory.
Cecil, Beaty-Born July 5th, 1874, departed this life August 23rd, 1949. He
joined the Cherry Fork Church by restoration April 26th, 1941, and was
Sunday School Supt., and Bible Class teacher for several years. He leaves
an aged mother, one brother, four sisters, a wife, nine sons, six daughters,
and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his absence. We feel our
loss is his eternal gain in glory.
York, Sally Malinda-Born Sept. 23, 1870, died Sept. 10, 1949, age 78 years,
11 months 17 days. She joined the church at an early age, lived a Christian
for 60 years, a faithful member until death. She leaves 4 children, 3
sisters, 1 brother and a host of friends to mourn her absence. Before
passing she said "Goodbye" sister to Emma Cross, one of her sisters, "I am
going to Glory where there is no pain." We feel that she is peacefully
resting with God in Glory. Corinth Church.
Massengale, Jesse-Born August 4, 1877, died July 13, 1949, age 71 years, 11
months, 9 days, he joined the church near 50 years ago, lived a Christian
and attended his church regularly until death, he leaves his wife, 4
children, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a host of friends and relatives to mourn
his absence. Before passing he said, "I'm ready to go to live with Jesus."
We feel he is resting from all his labors here on earth. Corinth Church.
Terry, Arbany West-Was born July 4, 1865, departed this life March 11, 1949,
age 83 years, 8 months and 6 days. She was married to Henderson Terry in
the year of 1883, to this union was born 13 children, 10 boys and 3 girls, 2
boys preceded them in death, the remainder still living, she was a kind and
loving mother and loving Christian, joined the Antioch Church at an early
date, moved her membership by letter to Capuchine where she remained until
death took her away, she leaves 11 children, a host of grandchildren and
many friends to mourn her absence. We feel our loss is her gain in glory.
Norman, William Marion-Was born October 29, 1861, departed this life Sept.
11, 1949, age 87 years, 11 months and 11 days. He was married to Margaret
Elizabeth Brooks, January 20, 1885, to this union were born 4 children, 3
boys and 1 girl, the 3 boys died in infancy and his wife preceded him in
death and later he married Delilah Helen Hull, December 23, 1894. After her
death he was married Sarah Jane Carpenter, June 17, 1897, she preceded him
in death in 1942. He was converted at the age of 22 years and joined the
Fellowship Baptist Church and lived a faithful member until death called him
away. He is survived by 1 daughters, Mrs. Maude Bow, 4 grandchildren and 2
great grandchildren, all of Dayton, Ohio, also 1 sister, Mrs. Lue Hurst of
Jamestown and one half sister, Mrs. Neeta Delk of Albany, Ky., 5 half
brothers, Jonathan, Grant, Babe and Lee, all of Armathwaite and Nathan of
Liberty, Ky. He will be sadly missed in the community for he had a host of
friends.
