Perkins, Rose Ella-Born May 18, 1884, passed away at LaFollette, December
8th, 1959, age 75 years, 6 months, 20 days. She leaves to mourn her passing
10 children; 5 sons and 5 daughters, Kelcy of Baltimore, Md., Alonzo of
Cincinnati, Ohio, Fred of Toledo, Ohio, Luther of Detroit, Michigan, Homer
of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Bell Sharp and Mrs. Martha Cross, of Cincinnati,
Ohio, Mrs. Jeanette Baird of Elk Valley, Mrs. Hattie Lay of Dallas, Texas,
Mrs. Elsie Meredith of LaFollette; one sister, Mrs. Roan Jones of
LaFollette; one brother, Cal Graham, of Indiana. 36 grandchildren, 21 great
grandchildren, and a host of friends. She was a faithful member of Little
Elk Church.

Brooks, Betty Ann-Was born July 23, 1861, died January 24, 1960. Her age
was 98 years, 6 months, 1 day. She has left here two sons, Perry Brooks and
Lewis Brooks both of Elk Valley; 1 daughter, Sallie Jeffers, of Jellico and
25 grandchildren and a lot of great great grandchildren and lots more
relatives and a host of friends too. We hated to give her up, but she has
told us she was going home some day that she was only waiting her call to go
and that she was all ready to go.

Terry, Mary Helen-Was born February 24, 1918 and passed away February 14,
1960. She was the wife of the late Dewey Terry. She was survived by one
daughter, Roxanne Long, of El Paso, Texas; Mother, Arbana West; 7 brothers,
2 sisters. She joined the Church several years ago. She was missed by all
who knew her. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. Helenwood Baptist
Church.

Reed, Manus-Born February 11, 1886, and departed this life November 25, 1959
at the age of 73 years, 9 months, 14 days. He leaves to mourn his passing
his wife, Betty Reed; 2 daughters and 5 sons, 14 grandchildren, 4 great
grandchildren, 2 sisters; 3 brothers. He professed a hope in Christ and
joined the Helenwood Baptist Church and was a faithful Christian until
death. We feel our loss is his eternal gain in Heaven.

Stanfill, George Letcher-Son of the late Melton and Rebecca Collins
Stanfill, was born in Oneida, Tenn. on May 29, 1879, departed this life July
27, 1960 at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 28 days. He was married to
Rachel Phillips about the year of 1900, and to this union was born 9
children, 7 girls and 2 boys; his wife and 3 daughters having preceded him
in death. Surviving are: 2 sons, Mitchel of Oneida, Tenn. and Andrew of
Cincinnati, Ohio, 4 daughters, Mrs. Lee Morris of Oakdale, Tenn., Mrs.
Frankie Baronian, of Burbank, Calif., Mrs. Artie Grant of Cincinnati, Ohio,
Mrs. Truie Chitwood of Sunland, Calif., 13 grandchildren, and 11 great
grandchildren, 1 brother, Thomas Stanfill, Knoxville, Tenn., and a host of
other relatives and friends. He professed faith in Christ and joined the
Pine Hill Baptist Church near Oneida, Tenn. about the year of 1905 where he
remained a member until death. We feel that our loss is his eternal gain.

Stanley, Rube H.-Born Sept. 10, 1884 departed this life April 16, 1960, age
75. He was a faithful member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. He was united in
marriage to Bertha Litton and to his union were born 12 children two of
which preceded him in death, Lucille and Helen. Survivors: wife, Bertha,
five sons, Jessie, Archie and Bobby of Oneida, Tenn., Leland of Muncie,
Ind., and Chester of Cincinnati, Ohio. Five daughters, Mrs. Homer Ryan,
Grundy, Va., Mrs. Willard Duncan, Mrs. R. L. Stanley, Mrs. Reuben Byrd all
of Oneida, Tenn. [Only four listed] Twenty-two grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren. One brother, Mr. Andy Stanley of Oneida. Funeral services
were conducted at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Rev. A. V. Stanley and Rev.
Jackson Chambers officiating. Burial in Church Cemetery. We miss him very
much, but realize God has called him home to rest.

Reed, Rebecca Stanley-Daughter of the late Robert and Sallie Ann Stanley,
was born in Oneida, Tenn., Sept. 27, 1880, departed this life August 18,
1960 at age 80 years. She was married to Campbell Reed the year, 1898 to
this union was born 8 children, 5 girls and 3 boys, one son preceded her in
death. Surviving are husband, Campbell Reed; 2 sons, Leonard and Herman; 5
girls, Mrs. Lem Ellis, Mrs. Roy Strunk, Mrs. Ben Stanley, Mrs. A. V.
Stanley, Mrs. Elza Cross. 31 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a
host of relatives and friends. She professed a hope in Christ and joined
New Salem Church at an early age. Later moved her membership to Pine Hill
and remained a member until death. Our community has lost a wonderful
mother and a faithful friend.

Smith, Calvin-Born January 27, 1884, departed this life, May 2, 1960 at the
age of 66 years, 3 months and 5 days. He joined the Pine Hill Baptist
Church in April 1953. He leaves to mourn his passing is wife, 5 children
and a number of grandchildren, relatives and friends. Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art
with me, they rod and thy staff they comfort me.-Psalms 23:4.

Phillips, Brother John Wesley-Was born March 8th, 1871 and departed this
life October 14th, 1959, age 88 years, 7 months and 6 days. He accepted
Christ as his Savior and was baptized May 29th, 1921. He was ordained a
Deacon of the Cherry Fork Baptist Church May 23rd, 1925 and lived a devoted
Christian life until his death. He leaves to mourn his absence 2 sons, 2
daughters, 3 brothers, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a
host of other relatives and friends. We feel that our loss is his eternal
gain in glory. May we all so live that we can meet and live with him again.

Phillips, Sister Elizabeth-Wife of William Harrison Phillips, of Oneida,
Tenn., departed this life March 19th, 1960 at the age of 78 years. She
accepted Christ as her Savior and United with the Cherry Fork Baptist
Church by experience and Baptism in July, 1906 and lived a devoted Christian
life until her death, also a devoted wife and mother. She leaves an aged
husband, one daughter, five sons, one stepson, one brother, 21 grandchildren
and 19 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends to
mourn her absence. May they also live as to meet in Heaven. We feel our
loss is her eternal gain in glory.

Chambers, John-Was born in 1892. He joined the Union Church at an early
age. Then in 1949 he moved his letter to Jakes Branch United Baptist Church
which he helped to organize and remained a faithful member until death. He
married Kizzie Adkins and to this union were born seven children, one
preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his absence 4 sons, Joe of
Pioneer, Tenn., J. Odus of Caryville, Tenn.; Paul and James of LaFollette,
Tenn., two daughters, Emma Muse of LaFollette, Tenn. and Nella Burress of
Helenwood, Tenn. and a host of friends to mourn his passing. The Jakes
Branch Church misses his presence and we feel our loss is his eternal gain
in heaven.

Stanley, Artema-Was born in Scott County, Tennessee July 29, 1878, departed
this life July 13, 1960 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 14 days. She
was the wife of the late John Stanley. She is survived by 3 sons; Millard,
Strunk, Ky., Edward L. of Clemson, South Carolina, and Harrison, U.S. Army;
2 daughters, Mrs. Luther Yancey and Mrs. Mack Phillips, Oneida; sister, Mrs.
Sharp Laxton, Pioneer; brother, Lacy West, Oneida; 8 grandchildren; 14 great
grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives
and friends. She united with the Paint Rock Baptist Church in 1896 when she
was 18 years of age and remained a faithful member until the time of her
death. She was a devoted wife and mother and was loved and admired by all
who knew her. We feel that our loss is her eternal gain. Blessed are the
dead which die in the Lord.

Ellis, Roe-Born July 28, 1895, deceased this life January 16, 1960. He
professed a hope in Christ and joined the Paint Rock Baptist Church,
September 4, 1938. Surviving are his wife, Rachel Ellis, of Oneida 2 sons,
Casta Ellis, Cincinnati, Ohio and Hurstle Ellis, of Oneida daughters, Mrs.
Frank Holloway, of Rockwood, Tenn., Mrs. Arlie Pike, Oneida; stepson, Leon
West, Oneida and step daughter, Mrs. Temey Byrd of Cincinnati, Ohio. Burial
at Pine Hill Cemetery. We feel our loss is his eternal gain in glory.

Chitwood, Helen-Joined Zion Baptist Church at an early age of life. She
lived a faithful Christian life until God called her home to be with the
redeemed of God at an very old age. We feel our loss is heaven's gain.

Ross, Brother Junior-Deceased this life February 14, 1960. Zion Baptist
Church.

Cole, Brother Bob-Deceased this life June 8, 1960. Zion Baptist Church.
