Cummings, Chester-Was borne March 3, 1884 and departed this life January 16,
1964 at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 13 days. He joined the West Side
United Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana, November 2, 1958 and he lived a
devoted Christian life until God called him home. He was married to Anna
Beason and to this union was born 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. His
wife, Anna Beason Cummings and one son, Clyde Frances Cummings, and one
daughter, Jessie Byrdell Cummings preceded him in death. He was later
married to Etta Glancey. He leaves a wife Etta Cummings and 3 sons, Herbert
and Robert Cummings of Muncie, Indiana, Arthur Cummings of Anderson, Indiana
and one daughter, Thelma Garringer of Red Key, Indiana; 2 brothers, Leroy
and Ervin Cummings and 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host
of relatives and friends to mourn his passing. We feel our loss is his
eternal gain in Glory. West Side United Baptist Church.

Jeffers, Mrs. Ollie Wilson-Deceased this life May, 1964. She was a
member of the White Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband,
Lonas Jeffers, mother, Mrs. Val Wilson, and a number of sisters, brothers
and friends. May God bless them all. White Rock Baptist Church.

Harness, Silas L.-Was a faithful member of the White Rock Baptist
Church and a Deacon. At the time of his death he and his family and moved
their membership to a Baptist Church in Georgia. He was very faithful to
both churches as a Deacon, choir leader and Sunday School teacher. The
entire family loved their church. May God bless them all. White Rock
Baptist Church.

Lay, Martin-Deceased this life May, 1964. He was a faithful member
of our church as long as he was able to attend. He was the teacher for the
Adult Class for several years. He leaves a wife Edna Lay; 2 sons and other
close relatives and friends. May God bless them. White Rock Baptist
Church.

Lay, Onvest Hooper-Was born January 18, 1915 and deceased November 26, 1963.
He joined the Black Gum Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member
until death called him away. He leaves his companion, Opal Lloyd Lay; 5
sons, and 1 daughter, 9 grandchildren; parents, 3 sisters and a host of
friends and relatives to mourn his passing. Black Gum Church.

Silcox, Mrs. Emily-Wife of William Silcox was born October 6, 1876
and departed from this life July 23, 1964 at the age of 87 years, 9 months
and 19 days. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was
baptized into the Straight Fork Baptist Church. She came by letter to the
New Canaan Church where she remained a member until death. She has three
daughters, Sallie Lay of Jacksboro, Tennessee, Vena Wells of Jacksboro,
Tennessee and Ella Trammell of Elk Valley; 11 grandchildren, 41 great
grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn
her absence. We feel that our loss is her eternal gain. New Canaan Baptist
Church.

Daugherty, Rev. David Culture-Age 56, passed away suddenly
Saturday morning, December 14, 1963, at his home in Winfield, Tennessee. He
had been in ill health for 18 months. He joined the New Light United
Baptist Church January 9, 1930, and remained a member there until death. He
was ordained a Minister of the Gospel July 8, 1950 and was very active in
church work in his community. He leaves to mourn his passing a wife,
Alberta; 2 sons, Forest Dale Daugherty of Winfield and David Jr. of
Cincinnati; 3 daughters, Mrs. Edward Stephens of Winfield, Mrs. Paul
Stephens and Mrs. Milford Stephens of Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren; mother,
Mary Daugherty; 3 brothers, Everett and Blain of Oneida and Larry of
Cincinnati; 3 sisters, Ella and Irene of Oneida and Gladys of Cincinnati.
His last testimony in church was this children and you my beloved brethren
and sister, "If I never meet you here any more, just come on over to heaven
I'll meet you over there, where all will be joy forever more.: We feel sure
that our loss here is heaven's eternal gain. New Light Baptist Church.
