Sexton, Sgt. Manford E., Jr., departed this life on Wednesday,
September 17, 1952, about 11 p.m. as a result of an automobile accident near
Esto, Florida. He was born at Oneida, Tennessee, December 22, 1931. He was
20 years, 8 months and 25 days of age. He professed a hope in Christ at the
age of 14 and joined the First Baptist Church of Oneida, Tennessee. On
October 2, 1948, he transferred his membership to the Paint Rock Baptist
Church. He loved the Bible and his favorite reading was the 27th Psalm. He
was very active in all phases of church work--a very devout and faithful
Christian boy. Junior (as he was often called) enlisted in the United
States Army May 16. He served three and one half years in Austria and
Germany. After having returned from overseas duty, on March 12, 1952, he
was married to Una Vee Owens of Oneida, Tennessee. At the time of his death
he and his wife were living at Camp Rucker, Alabama. Sgt. Sexton has just
received a large trophy for having been selected the best drill instructor
at Camp Rucker. He had also been recommended for additional promotion in
rank. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Una Vee, his father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Manford E. Sexton, Sr., of Helenwood, Tennessee, Route
No. 1, brothers, Captain Roy Denver Sexton, who is now somewhere in Korea;
Tommy Burton of Knoxville; Donald Gordon, Charles Bruce and Landon Carter
all of Helenwood Tennessee, Route 1. Sisters, Mrs. Aron Jones of Oak Ridge;
Mrs. William E. York of Huntsville; Mrs. Irel B. Reed of Ft. Campbell, Ky.;
Mrs. Fayrene Sexton of Nashville, Annette, Edwina and Judy of Helenwood,
Ten., Route 1. Grandmother, Mrs. Rachel R. Sexton of Oneida, several
uncles, aunts and cousins and other relatives and a host of friends. We
feel our loss is his eternal gain in Glory.

Terry, L.D.-Was born Jan. 1, 1885, died August 21, 1952, age
67 years, 7 months and 20 days. He was married to Bernetta Phillips
December 25, 1906 who preceded him in death. To this union were born 7
children, 4 boys and 3 girls. One boy Audney who was killed in Lorain
France in World War II Nov. 14, 1944. He is survived by his wife Emily
(Foster) Terry and three boys and three girls, 33 grandchildren, 10 great
grand children and a host of friends and relatives. He professed a hope in
Christ in 1922 and joined the Antioch Church, then later he moved his
membership to Opossum Rock Church where he remained until death. He was a
faithful Christian, a loyal husband and a loving father who we feel is
resting in peace. He has departed from his home, relatives and friends but
has just moved to a new home in Glory.

Honeycutt, George Monroe-Was born Dec. 15, 1873, deceased this
life October 24, 1951, aged 78 years, 10 months and 9 days old, he accepted
Christ and joined the New Salem Church about 1894 and remained a member
until death. He had been blind for a number of years. In his last remarks
he said he would soon be in a land where there would be no blind people
there. He leaves to mourn his absence a wife and 2 sons and 2 daughters, 19
grandchildren and one brother and a host of other friends to mourn his
passing. We feel our loss is his eternal gain in Glory.

Duncan, Rev. Elmer-In 1893, July 24 a baby boy was born to the
late Jess and Poppy (Jones) Duncan to become a servant of the Lord. He
joined the Smithtown Baptist Church August 1930, then he lettered to the
Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church where he was ordained as a minister of
the Gospel January 1932, to which he was ever faithful. Bro. Elmer was
always willing to do what he could in the service of the Lord and to try to
get sinners saved. He was willing and ready to help console those in
bereavement. On March 17, 1945 he lettered to the New Light Baptist Church,
where he was a member until death which was Thursday, July 24, 1952. He was
59 years old the day he died. November 24, 1913 he was married to Emma
Childress. To this union were born 3 girls and 3 boys. He leaves behind
his wife Emma, 2 sons, Delbert and Elbert of Winfield, Tenn., 3 daughters,
Gladys Angel and Goldie Perkins of Pine Knot, Ky., Glenna Strunk of
Winfield, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 6 brothers and a step mother
and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. We know Elmer
is one of those who is at rest and that his work shall follow after him. We
feel that his soul is resting in the paradise of God to await the coming of
the Lord to reunite it with a new and glorified body which will have no more
pain nor know no more sorrow. One son Ernest preceded him in death last
August 27. I believe with Elmer it was good-bye to his family here and good
morning to Ernest. Our pray is that each of his loved ones will meet him
over there when they take their journey on.

Terry, Albert-Joined the church in September 1920, by faith and
baptism, deceased this life July 23, 1952. Helenwood Baptist
Church.

Keeton, Hettie Marcum-Wife of Leonard Keeton, joined the church
by faith and baptism August 3rd, 1914. Deceased this life May 29th, 1952.
Hettie lived a good Christian life and was loved by all who knew her.

Terry, Icy-United with the church by faith and baptism July
13th, 1931, she said she was ready to go and had a better home awaiting her.
Helenwood Baptist Church.

Duncan, Isabelle Owens-Born March 9, 1869, was married to Marion
Duncan Feb. 18, 1887. To this union were born 10 children, six girls and
four boys of which her husband and two children preceded her in death. She
departed this life May 9, 1951. She joined the Baptist Church at an early
age and lived a devoted Christian life until God called her away. She
leaves to mourn her passing three boys and five girls. A large number of
grandchildren and several great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and
friends. We feel mother is waiting for us around the eternal throne of God.

Pierce, Alexander Jackson-Was born September 16, 1877, departed this life
May 2, 1952, age 74 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was the son of Samuel
B. and Mary Ann Tompkins Pierce of Armathwaite, Tennessee. He is survived
by two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Young, Roslin, Tenn., and Mrs. Mary
Hollinsworth, Jamestown and a host of nephews and nieces to mourn his
passing. He was united in Marriage to Mae Phillips of Harriman, Tenn.,
formerly of Buford, North Carolina, August 1911. She preceded him in death
a number of years. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined
the Fellowship Baptist Church at Armathwaite, Tenn. Burial was beside his
wife at Tampa, Florida.

Hull, Horace Maynard-Son of the late J. R. and Louisa Hull, was
born May 22, 1887. He departed this life February 21, 1952, at the age of
64 years and 9 months. He was married to Rebecca E. Voiles on February 18,
1910. To this union were born 9 children, five of whom preceded him in
death. Those living are Chester of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Jess Vaughn of
Allardt; Mrs. Theodore Hicks of Dayton, Ohio; and Lonnie of the U.S. Army.
He also leaves nine grandchildren, six sisters and brothers. His sisters
are Mrs. N. A. Buck and Mrs. Willie Voiles of Armathwaite, Mrs. Joe Voiles
of Shirley, Mrs. Charley Voiles of Shirley, Mrs. Charley Cross of Jamestown,
Mrs. Granville Bow of Indiantown, Fla., and Mrs. Edd Tompkins of Dayton, O.
His brothers are William and Elmer of Armathwaite, Edd of Jamestown, and Roy
of Monterey. There are many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss
him. He was saved and joined the Fellowship Church on July 12, 1914. He
lived a faithful Christian life and was loved by all who knew him. We hope
to meet him in that beautiful home where there will be no more sad parting
and tear-dimmed eyes. In Revelations we read, "And God shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes. And there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor
crying, neither shall there be any more pain. And there be no night there;
and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth
them light and they shall reign forever and ever."
