Phillips, Clifton Ray-Was born October 4, 1949 and deceased this life May
12, 1953. He was 3 years, 7 months and 8 days old. He is survived by his
parents, Elbert Lee Phillips and Mildred Phillips and a brother David. He
is also survived by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Phillips of Oneida and
Corbit Evans of Muncie, Indiana. Paint Rock Baptist Church.
Watson, Bro. Clearncie-Departed this life March 13th 1953. Age 21 years
old. He professed a hope in Christ and was baptized May 18, 1952 and was a
member of Ross Grove Church until his death. He leaves his mother, Rebecca
Watson and Father Lee Watson; three sisters, Evelyn Boyatt of Blue Heron,
Ky. and Delis Gibson of Indiana, Wilda Waters; three brothers, Elman Watson,
Willis Watson, Revelo, Ky., and Robert Watson. We feel our loss is his gain
in glory.
Kidd, Eva-Was born February 27, 1885. Deceased this life September 7, 1953,
age 68 years. She was married to Jeff Kidd. To this union were born twelve
children, ten of whom survived. She joined New Liberty Church some years
ago and later brought her letter to Oak Grove Church. Belonging there the
remainder of her life. She was a faithful member until death. We feel our
loss is her eternal gain in glory
Dolan, Norma Jean-Born March 18, 1939, departed this life April 25, 1953,
age 14 years, 1 month, 7 days. She joined Beech Grove Baptist Church
November 11, 1952. She leaves a mother, Pearl Watson and one brother, Lee
Dolan; three half sisters, Maxine Watson, Irene Watson, Joyce Watson and one
half brother, Carrol Dennis Watson to mourn her absence. We feel sure our
loss is her eternal gain in glory.
West, Eunice-Professed a hope in Christ in early life she joined the Church
and lived faithful until she was called home. Eunice was loved by all who
knew her. We miss her at church and in the choir. She was the daughter of
the late Columbus West and Lucinda West. We feel our loss is her gain. She
deceased this life November 23rd, 1952. She leaves her mother, two sisters,
two brothers. Other relatives and friends who hope to meet her in a better
world where death and sorrow don't come.
Wilson, Nannie Elizabeth-Was born November 21, 1880 and departed this life
June 11, 1953 at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 22 days. She was united
in marriage to Balford Wilson February 1902 to this union were born 4
children, Carson Wilson of Kansas City, Mo., Emma Duncan of Winfield, Tenn.,
Mrs. Nora Murphy of Oliver Springs, Tenn. Her husband and one daughter
preceded her in death. Sister Wilson joined the Baptist Church at Pleasant
Grove the year 1921 and lived a faithful Christian life. She lived a widow
35 years. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters. A group of
grandchildren to mourn her passing. A place is vacant in the home that
never can be filled but our hopes and prayers are all sincere that we will
meet mother again.
Owens, Freeman-Professed a hope in Christ about 1907 and united with the
church and lived a faithful life until death. He deceased this life June
28, 1953. He leaves a wife and several children who miss him but feel he
has gone to a better home. Helenwood Church.
Morris, John-Was born December 25, 1873, died June 9, 1952. Age 79 years.
He joined the Pine Hill Church August 2, 1898. He served this church as
Deacon and also church clerk for many years. His faithful Christian life
and work for our Master makes us know that his home is with Jesus. He leave
a wife and 5 children to mourn his absence, and try to take up and carry on
the work till Jesus calls us to meet Husband and father where there will be
no parting.
