King, Martha Duncan-Was born September 15, 1892, deceased this life November
15, 1965 at the age of 73 years and 2 months. She was united in marriage to
Maynard King in the year of 1910 and to this union was born 6 children. Her
husband and one daughter preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her
passing three sons, Homer King of Newport, North Carolina, Clint King of
Charlotteville, Virginia and Hermon King of Indianapolis,
Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Carson of Oneida, Tennessee and Mrs. Lora
Mae Planck of Hamilton, Ohio; 22 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren and a
host of relatives and friends. She professed a hope in Christ and joined
the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in the year of 1905. She moved her letter
to the Pentecost Baptist Church August 2, 1936 where she remained a member
until the end. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.

Loyd, Mack-Was born October 14, 1900 deceased this life April 6,
1966 at the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 23 days. He is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Arizona Loyd of Oneida, Tennessee; one daughter Mrs. Glenna Allen
of Knoxville, Tennessee; four sons, Huston of Knoxville, Tennessee, Clayton
of Huntsville, Alabama, Clifton of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Denton of
Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters: Mrs. John P. Walsh, Mrs. Fate Sexton and
Mrs. Robert Klemt all of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Mrs. Dilmon Lawson of
Huntsville; four brothers, Frank and John both of Knoxville, Tennessee,
Wiley of Norma and Jeff of Buffalo, New York; 9 grandchildren and a host of
relatives and friends. He professed a hope in Christ and joined the Mill
Branch Baptist Church and later moved his membership to the Pentecost
Baptist Church were he remained a member until the time of his death. We
feel that he is resting now in the presence of God. "Blessed are the dead
which die in the Lord."

Rosser, A.M.-Was born May 12, 1877 deceased this life November 3,1965 at the
age of 88 years, 5 months and 21 days. He joined the Pine Creek Baptist
Church November 19, 1953 where he remained a member until death.

Chitwood, Mary Jane-The daughter of the late James W. and Anna
Orick Walker, was born in Scott county, Tennessee, August 16, 1900, deceased
this life December 5, 1965 at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 19 days. In
the year 1920, she united in marriage with John Quincy Chitwood and 6
children were born to this union. Her husband preceded her in death on the
first day of December of this year. She is survived by 3 sons, John J.
Chitwood, of Arcada, Florida, Carl K. and Max D. Chitwood both of Winfield,
Tennessee; 3 daughters, Pauline Chitwood of Winfield, Tennessee, Madeline
Strunk of Strunk, Kentucky and Betty Geneva McRoberts of Cincinnati, Ohio; 3
sisters, Mrs. Isom Chitwood, Mrs. Arnold King and Mrs. Ted Crabtree all of
Winfield, Tennessee; 24 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She professed
faith in Christ and united with the Pine Grove Baptist Church in the year
1915 where she remained a member until her death. "Blessed are the dead
which die in the Lord". We join the family in their bereavement.

Chitwood, John Quincy-The son of the late Asbury and Charity
Chitwood, was born in Scott County, Tennessee, April 23, 1899, deceased this
life December 1, 1965 at the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 8 days. He was
united in marriage with Mary Jane Walker, September 4, 1920 and to this
union 6 children were born. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons,
John J. of Arcada, Florida, Carl and Max both of Winfield, Tennessee; 3
daughters, Mrs. Geneva McRoberts of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pauline Chitwood of
Winfield, Tennessee and Mrs. Madeline Strunk of Strunk, Kentucky; 4
brothers, Sanford, Artis and Francis all of Winfield, Larue of Oneida; 3
sisters, Mrs. Mattie Cooper of Whitley City, Kentucky, Mrs. Stella Brown and
Mrs. Emma Strunk of Winfield. He also leaves 22 grandchildren; 2 great
grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He professed faith in
Christ around 1916 united with Pine Grove Baptist Church where he remained a
member until the time of his death. He was a devoted husband and father and
loved and admired by all who knew him. "Blessed are the dead which die in
the Lord."

Strunk, Roy-Born July 18, 1904, departed this life April 27, 1966
at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 27 days. He married Laura Reed and to
this union was born 6 children. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, 4
sons, Billy Bobby and Audie of Oneida, Tennessee and Earnest Strunk of
Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 daughters, Mrs. Glen Lee and Mrs. Thomas Williams
of Cincinnati, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harrison and Filmore
Strunk of Oneida, Tennessee; 1 sister, Mrs. Pearl West of Cincinnati, Ohio
and a host of relatives and friends. He professed a hope in Christ and
joined the Pine Hill Baptist Church in 1927 and remained a faithful member
until death. We know our loss is heaven's gain and we shall meet again, we
that love the Lord.

Ellis, Bertie Reed-Daughter of Campbell and Rebecca Stanley Reed, was born
March 27, 1901 and deceased this life January 27, 1966 at the age of 64
years and 10 months. She professed a hope in Christ in September 1919 and
united with the Pine Hill United Baptist Church where she remained a member
until death. She was married to Lemuel Ellis April 1, 1924 and to this
union was born 6 sons, Harold Willie, Melrose, and Russell all of Oneida,
Milo and Robert preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband,
Lemuel Ellis; her father, Campbell Reed; 2 brothers, Leonard Reed
of Oneida, Route 1 and Herman Reed of Cincinnati, Ohio; 4 sisters, Mrs.
Laura Strunk of Oneida, Mrs. Maudie Stanley and Mrs. Dessie Cross of
Winfield and Mrs. Dorothy Stanley of Oneida, Route 1. We feel that we have
lost a faithful mother and a true Christian. Blessed are the dead who die
in the Lord

Muse, Charles-Was born in Oneida, Tennessee September 8, 1949
and departed this life September 21, 1966 at the age of 17 years and 13
days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Muse of Oneida. Besides his
parents, he is survived by 2 sisters, Geneva and Gail Muse of Oneida; 7
brothers, Garrett and Earnest Muse of Muncie, Indiana; Clarence Muse of
Jellico, Robert, Odeva, Jimmie and Michael Muse all of Oneida. He also
leaves his grandmother, Cordelia Muse, of Jacksboro. He professed faith in
Christ and united with the Pine Hill Baptist Church May 13, 1962 where he
remained a member until the time of his death. Blessed are the dead that
die in the Lord.

Thompson, Byrd-The son of the late John and Polly Litton
Thompson, was born in Scott County, Tennessee February 27, 1894. Deceased
this life December 4, 1965 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 7 days. He
was first married to Artie Lambert and one daughter was adopted. In 1947 he
was married to Lula Chambers. Besides his wife, he is survived by one
adopted daughter, Mrs. Rema T. Dalton, Chesterson, Indiana; three sisters,
Martha Thompson, and Arminda Thompson both of Oneida, Ella Thompson of
Chattanooga, Tennessee; one grandson. Several years ago he professed faith
in Christ and united with the Pine Hill Baptist Church where he remained a
member until his death. He was a veteran of World War I, having served his
country honorably. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord. We join the
family in their bereavement.

Waters, Bro. Pete-Deceased September 13, 1966. (Ross Grove Baptist Church).

Watson, Sister Maude-Deceased January 25, 1966. (Ross Grove
Baptist Church).

Crabtree, Rev. J.A.-Was a member of Stanfill Baptist Church for
many years was a faithful member until death called him home. He was a
minister for 70 years and many people was converted under his preaching. We
the Stanfield Church have lost a faithful member. We feel our loss is
heaven's gain. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. He was 89 years,
8 months and 24 days old.

Baird, Eunice Barbara-Was born September 20, 1948 and departed this life
March 29, 1966 at the age of 21 years, 6 months and 9 days. She was the
daughter of Hiram and Ella Stanfill. She was united in marriage to Harold
Baird and to this union were born three children: one daughter Carla Dean
Baird; and two sons, Tony Baird and Robert Dale Baird. Survivors: Husband
and children, father and mother, two brothers, Clayton and Vernon
Stanfill; two sisters, Bernice and Madge. She professed a hope in Christ
and joined the Stanfield Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until
death. Eunice was a wonderful mother and wife and always had her children
at heart and a friend to all who knew her never wavering from that great
love which was planted in her heart. That love of God which made her shout
the praises of God. Her favorite song was "We Are Drinking from the
Fountain". The family, the church and her great host of friends have
sustained a great loss by her death but my her profession of faith in Christ
we feel that she has only left a world of sorrow and pain and gone on to be
forever with the Lord. Where death comes no more. We feel our loss is her
eternal gain in glory. Her funeral service was conducted from Pleasant Run
Church by Rev. R.L. Gibson and Rev. Dan Daugherty. Burial in church
cemetery. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.

Duncan, Joseph Melvin-Was born April 27th, 1887 and departed this life,
March 16th, 1965. He leaves behind one son, Rev. Luther Duncan of Route 1,
Oneida, Tennessee; three brothers, W. H. Duncan of Oneida, Tennessee, W.M.
Duncan of Louisville, Kentucky and Gernie Duncan of Silerville, Kentucky;
one sister, Mrs. Bertha Abbott of Danville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren;
seven great grandchildren and a number of relatives and friends to mourn his
absence. He joined the Salem United Baptist Church
through profession of faith and baptism late in life where he remained a
faithful member until the good Lord called him to rest. His noted testimony
was: "I have a great hope." We feel our great loss is his eternal gain in
Glory.

Hicks, Amana E.-Was born June 1st, 1888 and departed this life
October 1st, 1965 at the age of 77 years and 4 months. She was united in
marriage to Charles E. Murray on March 24th, 1906 and to this union were
born six children, to having preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her
passing her companion, Charles; 3 sons, Cleve of Abuerquere, Mexico, Lyle C.
of Maine and Ben of South Carolina; one daughter Mrs. Virgie Hull of Dayton,
Ohio; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Also a host of relatives
and friends. She professed a hope in Christ a number of years ago and
joined the Shirley Baptist Church where she remained a member until death.
We feel our loss is her gain in heaven.

Smith, Rosie Ellen Woodson-Was born in Clinton County, Kentucky
August 23 1906 the daughter of Richard and Nancy Jane Woodson. She was 59
years, 8 months and 26 days old when she left this life on May 19, 1966. She
was married to Louis Smith on December 25, 1923 and to this union were born
two children, Mrs. Eula Hicks and Mrs. Doris Robbins, both of whom are still
living. She became a Christian in the early years of her marriage and
joined the United Baptist Church at Cedar Grove. She later moved her
membership to the Shirley Church where she remained a member until the time
of her death. She leaves her husband, two children, thirteen grandchildren;
one great grandchild; one brother, Mr. Herbert Penticuff; one sister, Miss
Mayme Woodson, both of Allardt, Tennessee and a host of friends and
relatives to mourn her passing, for all who knew her loved her. Mother,
your place is vacant. Your footsteps will hear no more. But with God's
help we'll meet you on that golden shore.
