Jones, Nervia-Was born in Scott County, Tennessee August 4, 1886, deceased
this life October 2, 1966 at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 28 days. She
was the daughter of the late Rufus and Cynthia Lay Anderson. She united in
marriage with Gilbert Jones and 7 children were born to this union. Her
husband and 2 children preceded her in death. She is survived by 3 sons,
Erskine and Beecher Jones of Winfield and Arnold Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio;
2 Daughters, Ollie Wilson of Cincinnati and Nadine Wright of Winfield; 1
Sister, Ethel Duncan at Winfield. She also leaves 16
Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life she
professed faith in Christ and united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
where she remained a member until the time of her death. She was a devoted
wife and mother and was loved and admired by all who knew her. "Blessed are
the dead that die in the Lord."

Duncan, Rev. David Forest-Was born in Scott County, Tennessee November 30,
1903, deceased this life September 24, 1966 at the age of 62 years, 9 months
and 24 days. He was the son of Rev. J. H. Duncan and the late Arminda
Murphy Duncan. He first was united in marriage with Letta Murphy (now
deceased) and one child was born to this union. Later he united in marriage
with Rose Lorene Chitwood and five children were born to this union.
Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Brenda Ciofani, Miss
Ruby Duncan and Miss Carol Duncan. 3 sons, David and Edward Duncan of
Detroit, Michigan and Forest Duncan, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; Father, Rev.
J. H. Duncan; step-mother, Susan Duncan, both of Winfield, Tennessee; 3
brothers, Willard and Reuben Duncan of Oneida and Hurstle Duncan of
Louisville, Kentucky; 4 sisters, Mrs. Marie Murphy of Winfield, Mrs. Pearl
Martin of New Albany, Indiana, Mrs. Iris Ward of Louisville, Kentucky, and
Mrs. Ruth Martin of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves 4 grandchildren and a
host of other relatives and friends. Early in life he professed faith in
Christ and united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he remained a
member until the time of his death. He was ordained into the ministry in
1940. Blessed are dead that die in the Lord.

Chitwood, Joe-Was born in Scott county, Tennessee, April 19,
1898, deceased this life October 1, 1966 at the age of 68 years, 5 months
and 12 days. He united in marriage to Maude Vann Bunch on October 9, 1931
and to this union was born 2 sons, Ronald Chitwood of Los Angeles,
California and Donald Chitwood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Step-son, G.B. Vann of
Cincinnati, Ohio; Step-daughter, Mrs. Imogene Chitwood of Winfield,
Tennessee; 6 brothers, Ed Chitwood of Nashville, Tennessee, Fred Chitwood of
Nashville, Tennessee, Harrison Chitwood of Oneida, Tenn., Golman Chitwood of
Harriman, Tennessee. Roe Chitwood of Jacksboro, Tennessee, and Marshall
Chitwood of Macon, Georgia; 1 sister, Mrs. Mona Chitwood of Oneida,
Tennessee; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild, and a host of other
relatives and friends. He professed faith in Christ and united with the
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church about 28 years ago

Roberts, Bertie-Was born June 7, 1904, deceased this life
November 10, 1965 at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 3 days. She
professed a hope in Christ and joined the Pentecost Baptist Church August
27, 1944 where she remained a member until death. She leaves to mourn her
passing one daughter, Mrs. Dennis Owens of Cincinnati, Ohio; 2 brothers, Sam
Roberts of Oneida, Tennessee and William Bedford Roberts of Ypsilanti,
Michigan; 2 sisters, Mary Marcum of Pioneer, Tennessee and Della Roberts of
Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of relatives and friends. We feel our loss in
this world is heaven's gain. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord."

Ellis, John Freeman-Was born October 20, 1880, deceased this life February
12, 1966 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 23 days. He went in service
July 25, 1899 and fought for the freedom of his country in the
Spanish-American War. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 695, F. & A.M.
He professed a hope in Christ and joined the New Salem Church, February 18,
1905, later moved his membership to Mount Zion Church, then came as a
charter member to organize the Pentecost Baptist Church September 7, 1929
where he remained a member until the end. He united in marriage to Delilah
Cross Ellis July 14, 1901 and to this union was born three sons of which two
preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Delilah
Ellis; 1 son, Melbert Ellis of Oneida, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and 13
Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. We feel our loss
is his eternal gain in glory.

Chambers, Augfie-Age 41, passed away suddenly at her home in Oneida, Monday,
May 23, 1966. She was a life long resident of Scott County and a member of
the Pentecost Baptist Church. Survivors: One son, Leon Chambers of Oneida;
Mother, Mrs. Winnie Chambers of Oneida; three sisters,
Mrs. Georgia Sexton, Mrs. Pauline Jeffers and Miss Phyllis Ann Chambers all
of Oneida; eight brothers, Milford Lee, Harold Edgebert, Ottis, Robert,
Homer, Billy and Paul all of Oneida, and Dennis of Michigan.

Pike, Arlie D.-Was born in Oneida, Tennessee August 8, 1921.
Departed this life July 29, 1966 at the age of 44 years, 11 months and 21
days. He was the son of the Late George and Winnie West Pike. On December
6, 1947, he united in marriage with Juanita Ellis and four children were
born to this union. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons: Beamon
and Sheridan Pike; two daughters, Bertha Lou and Mary Magedline Pike, all at
home; three sisters, Charlene Phillips, Delphia Goodman and Delmarie Sexton
all of Oneida; two brothers, Sherman and Darius Pike of Oneida. He served
his country faithfully and honorably during World War II. On August 17,
1952, he professed faith in Christ and was baptized into the fellowship of
the Tunnel Hill Baptist Church where he remained a member until the time of
his death. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord.

Newport, Rev. Burt D.-Was born June 4, 1913 and deceased this life April 17,
1966 at the age of 52 years, 10 months and 13 days. He was married to Artie
Lawson and to this union was born seven children, six boys and one girl. Two
preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his absence his wife; sons,
Henry Newport of Dayton, Ohio, Harold Junior, Dorsey Lee and Archie Cooper,
all of Winona, and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Blackson of Dayton, Ohio.
Four brothers, Lawrence of Winona, Audney of Oneida, Tennessee, Burl of Utah
and Holbert who preceded him in death; two sisters, Mrs. A.Y. Davis of
Oneida, Tennessee and one who preceded him in death; 12 grandchildren and a
host of friends and relatives. He professed a hope in Christ and joined the
Winona Baptist Church. He was ordained July 22, 1956 as a minister of the
gospel and a true child of God. He will be missed by
his family, his friends, and relatives, but in our sadness is his eternal
gain in heaven.

Gibson, Ernest-Was born March 22, 1943 and deceased this life August 8, 1966
being 23 years old. He joined Union Church at Straight Fork on May 13,
1952. Survivors: Wife, Etta Day Gibson of Norma, Tennessee; parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ambers Gibson of Route 1, Pioneer, Tennessee;
brothers, Jams and Paul of Pioneer, Tennessee; sisters, Evelyn Ailor of
Knoxville, Tennessee and Lodena Gibson of Pioneer, Tennessee; Grandparents,
Mr. Johnny Harness of Pioneer and Mrs. Mary Gibson of Pioneer. He is sadly
missed. We feel our loss is heaven's gain.

Strunk, Shelby-Died February, 1966. He was a faithful member of our church.
He leaves a wife, Pearl Buttram Strunk, and several children and friends.
We cannot say he is dead, he is just away. (White Rock
Baptist Church).
