Petre, Elizabeth--Wife of the late T.J. Petre of Helenwood was born June 17,
1870, departed this life Dec. 11, 1950, age 80 years, 4 months, 24 days. She
leaves to mourn her departure one brother Lewis Thompson, Gleanniger, Ky.,
four step children, Mrs. Anna Kidwell of Knoxville; Silas Petre of
Helenwood; Ida Petre of Knoxville; a large number of nephews and nieces and
a host of friends. She joined Helenwood Baptist Church by letter from Pine
Creek March 1, 1930 and was a devoted member until death but some day we
will meet her where separation will come no more.
Daugherty, Margaret--Born June 23, 1883, departed this life June 19, 1948,
age 64 years, 11 months, 19 days. She was married to Rev. Daniel Daugherty
and to this union were born 8 children of which 3 are still living. She
professed a hope in Christ and joined the Old Otter Creek Church and was
baptized the 4th Sunday in Dec. 1895. She lived a faithful member and
Sunday School worker until death. She leaves her three sons John, James and
Dester and 17 grandchildren, a host of friends and relatives to mourn her
absence.
Wilson, Elise Ora Stephens--Born Dec. 12, 1904, deceased Aug. 2, 1950, age
45 years, 7 months and 19 days, joined the church in early life and lived a
faithful life until death. Children Mildred, Arleana Wilson Anderson, Mary
Louise Wilson Crabtree, Juanita Wilson, Lama Mae Wilson Meadows, 4
grandchildren, Roger Gail Crabtree, Ronnie Dean Crabtree, Dallas Wayne
Anderson, Stephen Anderson, husband Alex Wilson. She is resting in glory.
Louden, Cornelius--Born July 18, 1883, deceased this life February 26, 1951.
He was united in matrimony to Lenora Blevins who preceded him in death. To
this union were born 9 children. He leaves 8 living children, Ora Mae Reed,
Cora Short, Ruby Mayse, Marie Stanley, Jewell Chitwood, Walen Chitwood,
Ausby Louden and Gilbert Louden, two sister Laura and Lillian, 2 brothers
Perry and Albert, 24 grandchildren. He became a member of Pine Grove Church
about 40 years ago. Age 68 years, 7 months and 8 days. We feel our loss is
his gain.
Moore, Isabella Stephens--Departed this life April 5, 1951, age 61 years, 3
months and 30 days. She leaves a husband, Frank Moore, 2 sons Howard and
Frank Jr., Pine Knot, Ky., 4 daughters, Hazel Lovett, Pine Knot, Ky., Roxie
Carr, Williamsburg, Ky., Bessie Walters, Revelo, Ky., Mable Lylo, Atlanta,
Ga., Seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters,
and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing. She joined the
Baptist Church at about the age of fifteen and lived a faithful Christian.
We know our loss is her gain.
Ross, Sampson--Born Aug.. 22, 1886, died April 11, 1951, age 64 years, 7
months and 19 days. He leaves his wife Bena Ross and one daughter, Mrs.
Homer Posey, two grandsons, two brothers, Mathew Ross of Stearns, Ky.,
George Ross, one sister Mrs. George Troxel, Oneida, Tenn., and a number of
friends and relatives. Joined the church at Otter Creek in his youth, later
moved his membership to West Oneida where he remained until death.
Sims, William Russel--Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sims, birth place Fentress
County Aug. 30, 1923, deceased Dec. 7, 1950, at 7 a.m. one mile of New
River, Tenn. Age 27 years, 3 months and 7 days. Service held at Black Creek
Baptist Church on Dec. 9, 1950, 1:30 p.m. Clergyman Rev. M.D. Lawson,
interment place Elgin, Tenn., the Todd Cemetery in Scott County. At the
hour of 4 p.m., Dec. 9, 1950.
Lowe, Sister Bertha Gibson--wife of Thomas Lowe, joined the church Aug. 1936
by letter from Smokey Church, where she was a member at her death May 1951.
We all loved her and believe she is resting now from her labor here for we
have heard her tell her hopes of living in that city, God said he would
prepare for all of the children of God. May her relatives and friends
prepare to meet her in heaven for we feel our loss is heaven's gain.
Chambers, Sister Anna Letha Chambers, age 46, professed a hope in Christ and
joined the Cherry Fork Church by baptism on May 29, 1921, and departed this
life Nov. 26, 1950. She leaves a husband, one son, three daughters and an
aged father and mother and many other relatives and friends to mourn her
absence, we hope our loss is her eternal gain in glory.
Keeton, Sister Dicy--Age 73, departed this life July 14, 1951. She accepted
Christ as her savior and joined the Cherry Fork Church by baptism Aug. 18,
1921 and lived a devoted Christian life until death. She leaves an aged
husband, three sons, three daughters, and a host of friends and relatives to
mourn her absence. We feel our loss is her gain in glory
