George L. Wood, 89
MUNCIE - George Lesley Wood, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in Greenfield.
Mr. Wood was born June 12, 1914, in Pine Knot, Ky., to Sidney and Verna Ryan
Wood. He was a graduate of Burnside High School in Burnside, Ky. He then
attended the National School of Business in Middlesboro, Ky. He was an Army
veteran of World War II.
He was a minister for 40 years at the Royerton Church of God in Muncie. He
worked for Marhoefer Meat Packing Co. in Muncie for 26 years and at Market
Oil Co. in Greenfield for 6 years. He was a member of the Mt. Assembly of
God in Muncie.
Survivors are his wife, Reva Wood of Greenfield, whom he married Jan. 22,
1943; a son, Morris Leon Wood of Morristown; a grandchild; and a
great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alma Wood and Myrtle
Ball; and four brothers, John, Floyd, Ray and James Wood.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Redemption Way Church,
Stearns, Ky., with Rev. Jeff Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Angels
Cemetery, Stearns, Ky.
Calling will be at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield on Friday,
Feb. 6, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. Additional calling will 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 8, at Redemption Way Church.
