MUNCIE - Mr. Ovel Dobbs, Sr., was called home to be with his Lord and his
mother, Friday, March 25, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended
illness.
Mr. Dobbs was born October 28, 1938 to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dobbs in Sterns,
Kentucky.
Mr. Dobbs worked as an industrial electrician for Ontario Systems here in
Muncie.
He had attended Bethel Baptist Church of Muncie, his membership is with Faith
Baptist Church in Haggerstown, IN.
Before Mr. Dobbs got ill he was an avid hunter and loved to fish.
He also owned and operated Sandy's Variety & Flea Market here in Muncie.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra Ann Dobbs; three sons,
Ovel Dobbs, Jr., Thomas Ray Dobbs (wife, Cindy), Rodney Lee Dobbs; one
daughter, Sheila Yvonne Ball, (husband Jim); granddaughter, Cassandra Nicole
Writtenhouse; five brothers, Othel, Orie, Raymond Lee, Charles Ray, and Buddy Eugene;
four sisters, Francis May, Joann, Josie, Cathy Ann; along with several nieces
and nephews.
Ovel was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Susanne Dobbs; one
brother, Ray; and one sister, Maggie.
Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at Parson
Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Parson Mortuary with Rev.
Robert Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie.
