WALLS, DODE -63, Whitley City, died Tuesday, February

29 (?), in the Veterans Hospital in Lexington. His

widow, Mrs. Lena Boyatt Walls, survives. He was born

February 29 [?], 1909, at Yamacraw, the son of Mr. and

Mrs. Sherman Walls, both deceased. He was a veteran of

World War II and a retired coalminer. Surviving

besides his wife are two sons and two daughters,

Ninville Walls and Mrs. Doris Mill, both of Fontana,

Calif., Mrs. Mildred Perry of Whitley City and Elisha

Walls of San Francisco, Calif. Rev. Bud Perry and Rev.

Chester Stephens conducted funeral services Thursday,

March 16, in Pleasant Rock Baptist Church. Burial was

in the Angel Cemetery. Hickman Funeral Home was in

charge of arrangements. (McCreary County Record,
