Hello all,
I received this communication today, which came from Lou Stevens of Texas.

I thought some of you may want to be informed of this.

Dear Lay Cousins:

I'm sorry to report that Bettie Jean (Lay) Rehling passed away this morning (5/27/05) @ 4:30 a.m., according to a telephone call from Al Rehling. As most of you know, Bettie suffered with brain cancer for several years, but is now at rest from all her pain.

Plans were sketchy except that she will be laid out at John Ziegenheim Funeral Home on Gravois in St. Louis, MO., on Sunday, with burial on Monday @ 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's ChurchYard. Their daughter Susan, and son Marc were with Al, but John and Marci are coming in from out of state. Al thought that Marci was sending e-mail's to all that she had in her address book, so if we overlap, I apologize. Better to be notified twice, than not at all!

As most of you know, there would probably never have been an LFGA organization had it not been for Bettie Jean! She had boundless energy in getting us Incorporated and did years of research on the Lay Family. She was a pioneer and will be greatly missed.

Our condolences to Al and his family at this time!
Love, Lou

P.S. John Lay is notifying the following: Charlie & Helen Leigh, Bob McGinnis, Loyal Lay, Tilly Lay, Gerald Lay, Jill Byers, and Ollie Lay. Please feel free to notify anyone else that we have mentioned.

Lou Stevens

Note: Underscore _ between lou and stevens
