The pension is entirely separate from the compiled military service record. You can order an pension application file by using the form NATF85, Order for Copies of Federal Pension Application Files. You can decide if you want a paper copy of the form or if you want to place an order online by visiting our website at http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/pre-ww-1-records.html
