Duncans. There was a Thomas Dunkin(Duncan) who moved to KY/TN area from Ireland (born in Scotland). His son, John Duncan and his family were captured and kept prisoner by the British during the revolution. (Martin's Fort or Stockade - there is a website complete with a list of everyone taken from Martin and Ruddle's forts & their history) Most of his family went back to there and later some came into Texas (where I am). My mother was a Duncan. Most of the people taken from Martin's Fort immigrated with Thomas Dunkin from Ireland. He married Elizabeth Alexander before leaving Ireland. If you can connect to this family, I'll be happy to provide you with the information starting with Thomas. I've had little luck going back any further.
