Steve, Yes, I'm a Civil War buff. We have been to most of the battlefields
over the years. Last year we stopped back at Andersonville Prison in
Georgia. They had put up gates and outlines of the prison entrances and
approximate size. We were there in the early 70's and it had changed alot.
They now have a museum for Prisoners of War. It was really moving to walk
up to the gate where my Great Great Grandfather must have entered as a
prisoner of war. The first time we were at the site I had just read the
novel, Andersonville and that was powerful to imagine what it must have been
like.
