The Lay DNA Surname Project has been established to help all Lay researchers use DNA testing for genealogical purposes to further their knowledge of their family history. Testing has already begun on several major Lay lines. Many questions regarding Lay family ancestry can be answered with DNA testing, especially where the paper records or existing records are unclear. Current and future Project participants are making important contributions to Lay family history research. Eligible testers represent their family pedigree in the Lay Project and are participating in the latest scientific advance for genealogy.
