Sherman Corder was the town Marshall working for the Stearns Coal and Lumber Co. in Stearns, Ky during the 1930's & 40's . Sometime in the 1950's he shot and killed a young man and was sentenced to a term in prison at La Grange Prison in Ky. He also shot and killed Leamon Sexton on September 19,1934 during an altercation in which Sherman shot Leamon at least four times according to the newspaper report at the time. Sherman died of natural causes sometime in the 1980's I believe. He was quite a colorful character and not well liked by everyone.
