*All,*

*The Scott Co, TN Website was updated tonight. I added 1,221 obituaries
(no, that is not a typo) and a few pictures of people. How did I manage
to add so many obits? Well, I finally got off my rear-end and created
the obituary database you've heard me promise over the last couple of
years. Took me about a month and half to create the software once I got
motivated.
*

*I posted all of the 2004 and 2005 Independent Herald obits, about half
of the 2003 IH obits, and all of the 2006 IH obits to date, plus obits
people have sent me over the last month (about 60 of them).
*

*Obituaries posted to this website after 10 Nov 2006 are now found in
the Obituary Database. You will still need to use the links on the
Death Records to access obituaries posted to this website prior to 10
Nov 2006. I will be moving the old obituaries to the new database over
the next several weeks so you will need to check the database and the
links on the Death Records page to find all of the obituaries found on
this website. Once I've completed the transition, obituaries will only
be found in the database. Thanks for your patience.*

*The new database allows new searching capabilities such as soundex
searching, searching by maiden name, last name, first name (or partial
first name), or combinations there of.*

*The new database also allows you to add comments to specific
obituaries. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO ADD CONDOLENCES. PLEASE DO NOT
ADD CONDOLENCES. Use the comment capability to add information about
the individual in the obituary or correct the information contained in
the obituary. Those who insist on adding condolences will loose their
ability to comment and the condolence will be remove. Oh yea, one other
thing about comments -- please don't flame me or the website if the
obituary that you want to comment on has errors -- just politely correct
the error. The obits are verbatim transcriptions from their original
sources. I have no ability to determine if the obits are correct. They
are what the are from the papers. Flamers and their comments will be
removed (even if their comments are valid).
*

*I know that many of you have sent me pictures, especially headstone
pictures. I haven't forgot them or you. I will be adding them to the
website via the new database; however, I need to create that software
first. I want to focus on getting that software completed before I add
your pictures.
*

*The ability to add pictures, obituaries, death certificates via the
database will allow me to post things MUCH FASTER and continuously
through out the month rather than resorting to the monthly update cycles
to which you've become accustomed.
*

*Please drop me an email if you see bugs in the new database or you'd
like to see changes in the way things are displayed or accessed.
