Thank you so much, I was at a loss. Now that I know who John & Rebecca were,
I wonder which of Johns kids had Marinda? I have seen the microfilm of the
Dickey Diaries, but not sure if I've seen that number. I thought I had copied
all of the numbers that mentioned Combs. I have them around here somewhere.
Its a shame that Marinda was born the decade the census records burned and if
the ONLY Marinda Deaton from Perry Co in the Ky Death Index is her, then she
died in 1975. Her DC would not be on microfilm.
It just kills me that these women get lost in the shuffle when they marry.

is John S. COMBS b8/25/1819 s/o "Chunky Jerry".
Rebecca Maggard is second marriage in 11/1875.
Ist marriage was to Celia COMBS 5/10/1838.
It's now 1:30 AM and my mind tends to wander at this hour. However, if I
remember correctly, this is the John S. COMBS who is mentioned in Roll 3 of
the Dickey Diary. Does this ring a bell?? JPD
