Jimmie,
Carl L. Combs was son of Spencer Combs who married Cordelia Amburgy 1st time.
They had Carl, Violet and Lola. Spencer md second time to Polly Engle and had
Mary, Carson, Ortha, Ora, Alpha, Frances, Edgar, Oliver, Everette, and Ula Vale.
Spencer was the son of Andrew Combs and Nancy Francis.
Andrew was a son of Jeremiah L and Sarah Kelley Combs.


Carl and Ortha were second cousins.
Ortha was my aunt, my mother's sister.
Carl and Ortha went to Phoenix Arizona some time after the census because
Carl was dying of TB. The doctor told him to go or die. Carl regained his
good health. Both are buried in Phoenix. Bert and Lillian are deceased. Gene
is still living but in very bad health. I am in touch with Lillian's two girls
from time to time.

Franklin Martin was also known as Franklin P. Martin. He was the son of
William Martin and Mary Ashley Smith Martin. Don't know who the parents
of Wm was.
Flora was the only child of Polina Combs and John (Limpy) Combs.Polina married
Shade Smith and had five other children. John never married again. He had quite
a colorful history. I understand his records are sealed in Frankfort. I have
not been able to find out anything about them. Would love to see all this since
he was my great grandfather.

William Martin was married to a Nancy Kelley and had children by her. She also
had children with her when she was with WM. In 1880 Wm was with Mary on
Lotts Creek with two of his children by her. Jess and Nancy. Jess md a Slone
from
FLoyd Co. and moved to WVA. Nancy married Richard Combs and lived around Vicco.
I haven't found Frank in 1880. Didn't find WM and Mary in 1870. Wm and Nancy
Kelly Martin were in 1850 and 1860 in Perry on Lotts Creek. In 1870 Nancy was
there alone with Wm's kids.
Mary was married to Alexander Smith until he was killed during the war of 1862
1864. No proof of a lot of this, can't find anything. Do have marriage and death
records that confirms who belonged to who.

Frank and Flora were in Perry around the Jeff area. Then they were in Sassafras
the rest of their lives.
