Dr. John Corbett Coldiron was born 20 Jan 1897 in Wolfe County, KY, the son of William Crockett Coldiron and Ella Brooks. He married Anna Evelyn Swango on 7 July 1926 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. Dr. Coldiron and Anna Evelyn had three daughters, Nita Jean (McCombs), Lois Marie (Thompson), and Joyce Evelyn (Morton).

Dr. Coldiron was a physician in the Hazard, Kentucky area from about 1930 to 1942. It is believed that Dr. Coldiron enlisted in the U.S. Navy while practicing in Hazard, and had the rank of Commander while in the Navy. After his Navy duty, he moved his practice to Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky and his office was located in Manchester at the corner of Bridge and Main Streets. Dr. Coldiron also practiced in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.

Dr. Coldiron died on 26 October 1977 in Fayette County, Kentucky. He had a farm in Lexington, Kentucky. He is buried beside his wife in the Hazel Green Cemetery, Hazel Green, Wolfe County, Kentucky.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Dr. Coldiron, but have talked to his daughters and grandchildren who have shared their family information and their memories of John Corbett Coldiron.
