I think that William Campbell of Scott Co., KY is probably the same Wm.
Campbell who was in Stafford Co., VA in the 1780s. "Stafford County,
Virgina Tithables" compiled by John Vogt and T. William Kethley, Jr. (2
volumes published 1990) lists Peck, Burgess, Campbell and Mulberry - all
who appear on each others' documents, intermarried and lived in the north
part of Scott Co.

Have you seen Wm. Campbell's will? Scott Co., KY Will Book A, p. 205.
Dated 30 Aug. 1803, recorded Aug. 1804. Wife = Elizabeth; Sons = John and
William; Daughters = Mary, Lucy, and Levina; Executors= John and Wm.
Campbell; Witnesses = Toliver Craig and William Mulberry. One theory is
that he also had a daughter named Mary who married a Mulberry.

"Scott Co., KY: A History"
In the early days there were small stations in addition to George Town and
Great Crossings. These smaller stations included those of "Ash Emison,
William Andrew McConnell, John Scott, Laban Shipp, Stephen Archer, William
Campbell, Matthews and Francis Flournoy, Thomas Herndon, and Anthony
Lindsay. Many of these stations were at most fortified log houses." p. 41

"In 1790 William Campbell began a station two miles northwest of Great
Crossings and Thomas and William Newman built one near the Stamping Ground
pike crossing of McConnell's Run." p. 42
