My understanding is that the Ironworks Pike ran from Bath County to
Frankfort, in order to take finished iron to the capital. Some of the
workers at the ironworks came to Scott Co. with the Baptist groups - from
Stafford County, VA where they had worked in foundrys. It was a logical
move to Bath Co. when iron was found there and the iron works were
established. John Mulberry, brother of Jacob, was one such fellow. He had
worked at Hunter Ironworks in Falmouth, Stafford Co., VA before coming to
KY.
