Thank you, too, for the information on the Bourbon Furnace. It may be just
the crack in the brick wall I have been searching for. I cross checked the
St. Louis City Directory for 1867 and found a William Campbell, moulder,
living on the same block as William Lorain Hill. W.L. married Mary A.
Campbell, 1868. She was a sister to Emma Campbell, my ggrandmother. They were
from the Scott County, KY area. Apparently moved to St. LOuis at the end of
the Civil War. In the same directory, an Alex Campbell, living across the
alley, is listed as a brass moulder.
Wish I would have thought to put the Campbells and Hills on the map, so to
speak, years ago. Thought I'd pass that on.
Thank's for all you do for all of us.
