I am seeking information on the family of Eleazer LEWIS of Burke Co.,
GA. Eleazer LEWIS was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. Eleazer
LEWIS and his wife Sarah HINES appeared in the 1820 census of Burke Co.,
GA. Their ages were enumerated as 45 yrs. or older. Eleazer LEWIS
appeared again in the 1830 census; his age was enumerated as 70 yrs. to
under 80 yrs. This would place his birth somewhere between 1751 and
1760. He was shown as living in the 74th General Militia District of
Burke Co., GA. His wife had apparently died before the 1830 census was
taken. Eleazer LEWIS did not appear in the 1840 census, so he must have
died before 1840. Any information relative to this family will be
appreciated.
